Join us for a hands-on class to learn the basics of basket weaving! You’ll weave a flat reed basket, a timeless design, using simple tools and naturally grown materials that will be right at home with your most modern decor.

We’ll discuss a brief overview of basket making and various materials used… and then it’s time to get to weaving! By the end of class you’ll have completed a 6” accessories basket perfect for holding potted plants or as a catchall on the coffee table. Customize your basket with the shaping, colors, and patterns of your choosing and find relaxation through the guided step-by-step process. No basket weaving experience is necessary and all materials and equipment will be provided.

Note: If a date is sold out, join the waitlist to be contacted when a spot opens up.

Teaching Artist

Andie Foxglove

Andie Foxglove is a local basket maker who started UrbaNomad Weaving Company in 2016 from her living room after learning to weave Adirondack Pack Baskets at a local workshop. Andie hand dyes and lovingly prepares all of her materials, enjoying the communion of artistic expression and meaningful making that weaving provides. She currently teaches public and private workshops and runs a small Etsy shop featuring her handmade baskets.
