Weaving is super versatile and really fun!
Join us to experience weaving on a wooden frame loom as we explore the variety of colors, designs, and textures of this popular fiber art. In this workshop you’ll learn the basic stitches and create a woven modern wall hanging that will add some instant charm to your space. This workshop is designed for beginners and in addition to your tapestry you'll leave with the confidence and knowledge to continue practicing this beautiful and relaxing art form at home.
All necessary materials, equipment, and instruction will be provided.

(optional) Would you like to bring home the loom and tools from class?
If you select the "Weaving Loom Kit Bundle” option during registration (+$45), you will take home your weaving kit used in class. This includes a 14”x18” wooden frame loom, shuttle, shed stick, and weaving needle. Just about everything you’ll need to continue making masterpieces!
Teaching Artist:

Liz Wright, the founder and Chief Creative Lady of Assembly, is a multi-disciplinary maker with an extensive history of creative projects and pursuits. She considers herself a lifelong learner and enjoys the challenges and thrills of learning a new skill and supporting others to do the same.
Important Info
Unless otherwise noted, workshops are for those 16 years of age or over.
Cancellation Policy-
A 72 hour notice via email prior to class is required to issue a refund of the class fee.
A 48 hour notice via email prior to class is required to reschedule or issue class credit.
If the class size minimum is not met 48 hours before class, Assembly may cancel class and all registered students will be notified via email.

Come get creative at Assembly’s studio storefront in Southeast Portland located in the vibrant Clinton-Division neighborhood.
We're aligning with federal, state, and local guidelines to mitigate as many risks as we can in creating a healthy and safe (and fun!) environment to work and make. This includes updated cleaning protocols, new methods of providing technique demonstrations, and little to no shared supplies between students.
Please note:
- Classes are filled to less than 50% capacity (max of 9 people) to allow for physical distancing (6+ ft) between the seats at our 3 large tables.
- Seats are pre-assigned and people registered together will be seated together as a party. If you've signed up separately from a friend and want to sit together, please email to let us know!

We accept cash and all major credit cards. Bringing in outside alcohol is prohibited.
