Let's play with pattern!  Design, paint, and stain a unique piece of geometric wood art.

Whether you prefer the rustic farmhouse barn quilt look, colorful abstract art, or sleek mid-century modern this project can be designed to fit just about any home decor style.

You’ll start by drawing out your pattern and we'll provide a set of examples to get you going. After selecting your color palette, you’ll paint or stain pre-cut baltic birch wood triangles and then attach them to a thick wood panel board. You’ll leave with your 12”x12” wall art ready to hang! Or consider using it as a serving tray or kitchen trivet.

No experience is necessary and no need to be able to paint a straight line! All supplies and materials are included.

Note: If a date is sold out, join the waitlist to be contacted when a spot opens up.

(optional) Take home one of our Wood Art Kits and make one more!

Select the "Class Registration & Wood Art Kit Bundle” option during registration (+$40), and you'll take home a kit to make a second piece of wood wall art. Create a matched pair for the living room or give your custom art as a gift! This kit includes a 12”x12” cradled wood panel, 32 custom cut birch wood triangles, and a paintbrush. Find some paint and you’re ready to go!

Teaching Artist

melinda prynne assembly teaching artist

Melinda Prynne is a lifelong creative with extensive practice in painting and creating with the, “I can probably make that!” mindset. She grew up in a small town in Texas where she used her creativity as an outlet to get her through childhood and high school. Afterwards she did some travelling abroad, eventually landing in Portland where everything fell into place. She decided it was time to embrace her creativity by opening up her Etsy store, The Arty Narwhal, and beginning to search for jobs that would embrace her creative side. With a background in teaching combined with her fervent crafting, Assembly is her perfect niche! When Melinda isn’t working on DIY projects and painting, you can find her tending to her plant babies, drinking her weight in tea, and on walks or cuddling her rescue dog, Milk, and her sweet British husband.
