Design, fold, and sew your own blank book from cover to cover by learning one of the oldest book binding techniques: coptic binding.

This elegant hardcover binding features an exposed spine and visible stitching that will lay completely flat when open, making it ideal for journals, photo albums, sketchbooks, and art projects.

You’ll have the opportunity to customize your new 5.25"x7.25" book with a choice of cover papers and it will be filled with sheets of high quality 98 lb mixed media paper. All supplies and equipment will be provided!

Note: If a date is sold out, join the waitlist to be contacted when a spot opens up.

(optional) Would you like a kit to continue the fun at home after class?

Select the "Class Registration & Tool Kit Bundle" option (+$25) and you'll take home from class a kit with just about everything you need to continue the bookbinding fun. The kit includes a wood handled metal awl, bone folder tool, curved stitching needle, spool of waxed thread, and two pre-cut 5-1/4" x 7-1/4" pieces of binder's board.  Also provided are the resources to help you to find the papers you'll like to use for creating more handmade books at home!

Haylee Croydon is a Librarian, bibliophile, crafter, gamer, and a dog and baby mom who loves to create. She feels that bringing something to life from just it's parts is a powerful experience and to teach others how to do it is even more rewarding. She’s been book making for over six years and has been teaching it for two. Aside from book making, she’s kind of a "Jill-of-All-Trades" crafter, making anything that seems cool or challenging. She’s excited to see what you’ll make together!
