In this workshop you'll craft a custom wood cutting board using the art of pyrography-- don’t worry, it’s nothing illegal!

You’ll learn the basic techniques of decorative wood burning, which, although dating back centuries, can be expressed with fun, contemporary designs. Using a pen-like burning tool, you’ll work on small wood pieces to practice the basic technique.

Next you’ll move on to your masterpiece, etching a custom design onto a 13.5”x7.5” premium wood board that you can use for general food chopping or serving.

All supplies and equipment provided.

Note: If a date is sold out, join the waitlist to be contacted when a spot opens up.

This class is taking place in our Portland studio. Looking to join a live virtual online session instead? Find it here!

(optional) Would you like a kit to continue the fun at home after class?

Select the "Class Registration & Wood Burning Kit" option (+$32) and you'll take home a kit with everything you need to continue the burning fun. The kit includes the wood burning tool with three different tips, a piece of thin 5"x5" poplar for practicing, and a 12" beechwood kitchen spoon in need of decoration.
